I can't keep it in the corners
A doorbell button glows faintly on a wall-mounted black box. Once pressed by the viewer, the light transfers and glows from inside a plexiglass case. From within crickets climb walls of dried spaghetti towards the renewed warmth radiating in their enclosure. Viewers will occasionally hear their chirping. "I can't keep it in the corners" is a quote pulled from Carabello's story in which the character is collecting "trash" that he finds walking to and from work while watching the sun rise and set. In an attempt to preserve beauty in the world, he collects chaos in his home. Perhaps we ignore our tendencies to do this with mental clutter. I imagined this as a way to connect with Carabello's world through interactive sculpture.
