Sleep Working
I worked in a fast food restaurant for several consecutive summers. While I continued employment with Slim Chickens from my high school years in Rogers, Arkansas, (where the company was established) to my college's town Kansas City, Missouri, I felt the pride and standards diminish. I found myself clinging to the familiarity of uniform as place, culture, and my role as an individual continued to change. Over time I had acquired so many shirts that they became regular wardrobe for me. To commemorate the lessons learned from this period in my life I repurposed my ten t-shirts into a quilt.
